Exploration of SPJ Gold Property
Macdonald Mines is primarily focused on locating an economic deposit within its 100%-owned SPJ Project in Northeastern Ontario, located 20 kilometres east of the prolific Sudbury Mining Camp.
The 19,710 Ha SPJ Property is highly prospective for critical and precious metals mineralization and was identified by the Geological Survey of Canada (2007) and the Ontario Geological Survey (2016, 2023) as a potential Iron-Oxide-Copper-Gold (IOCG) district. The area is now recognized as an emerging example of the new classification of Metasomatic Iron and Alkali Calcic (MIAC) mineral systems in Ontario (Preferred alternative to IOCG systems).
OUR VISION is to maximize shareholder value by becoming a leading junior exploration company through the discovery and development of precious and critical metal assets in this proven mining jurisdiction.
Located in the Southern Geological Province with year-round exploration access, the SPJ Property features a regional distribution of precious and critical mineral showings along major faults. It includes the past-producing Scadding Gold Mine, which produced over 29,000 oz Au from ~140,000 tons of ore at a head grade of 7.2 g/t in the late 1980’s.
The SPJ Project is targeting a system of interconnected precious and critical metals mineralization zones on a largely underexplored land package, which hosts the past-producing Scadding Gold Mine and multiple known critical and precious metals prospects and showings.
